Professor Anoop Misra has done his undergraduation (MBBS, 1980) and postgraduation (MD, Internal Medicine, 1983) from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He has had a brilliant undergraduate and postgraduate career at AIIMS, having received numerous distinctions and awards, and also excelled in extra-curricular activities. Later, he joined faculty of AIIMS and was selected as one of the youngest Professors. In addition, he was also incharge of Clinical Pharmacology, and Metabolic Research Group at AIIMS. He has also been a faculty at Department of Medicine and Endocrinology, The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Texas, USA (the foremost center for diabetes and metabolic diseases globally). He has worked as World Health Organization fellow at the Center for Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases, University College, London and Royal Free Medical School, and the University of Texas. Currently, Dr. Anoop Misra is Director and Head, Department of Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases, Fortis Hospitals. He is also adjunct Faculty at Indian Institute of Advanced Research, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
